Four Ways To Grow And Care A Bonsai Plants

Don't let the fact that 'bon-sai' is an art studied and refined for many centuries scare you off, because you are perfectly capable to learn how to grow Bonsai Plants without green thumbs. Make sure to pick the right tree species for your environment and stick to the basic care guidelines. In this article I'll explain how to get started with growing Bonsai and introduce you into the three main parts of this section: Bonsai cultivation, styling and care. The movie just above will help you understand the basics, read on for more detailed information!

Grow and cultivate trees

First step is to acquire a tree, which can be done by buying a preBonsai (rough material to be pruned and wired) or by using one of several possible cultivation techniques. Very important however is to select a tree species that fits your circumstances. Are you keen on keeping the tree indoors (which limits your options to (sub)tropical trees that can survive indoors) or would you like to put your Bonsai outside? In the latter case, most non-tropical trees will grow perfectly fine as long as they are protected from either intense sunlight or freezing temperatures. A safe bet is to select a indigenous tree species. With this short introduction you should be able to select a tree that fits your wishes, either an indoor Bonsai or an outdoor.

Now that we have selected the kind of tree, let's proceed with ways to actually get one! One way is to buy a ready-made Bonsai tree from an (online) Bonsai store. These stores often have a wide variety of tree species as well as shapes and sizes, but this comes at a price. As mentioned above you could also buy a preBonsai, which is 'rough material' (with potential for Bonsai) to be shaped by yourself, a great way for quick results. Similar to buying preBonsai is collecting trees from nature; but this can be tricky and should only be done with permission. You could also get a Bonsai starterkit, enabling you to create your own tree and learn the basics of Bonsai.

A less expensive, but slow method is to cultivate a tree yourself; using seeds or cuttings. It will normally take around 3-5 years before the tree can be trained, so you might want to do this as a side project (and buy a preBonsai to get started with training techniques already now).

Learn more about the cultivation techniques mentioned above, or continue reading about training and shaping Bonsai below.

Shaping and styling techniques

Now that we have either bought or cultivated a tree, it's time to get started with shaping and styling it. This is the creative part of growing Bonsai trees, as well as the difficult part. Although it took many decades to refine techniques like pruning and wiring to keep trees miniaturized, some basics can be learned quite easily. Right now we will look at the basics of pruning and wiring, but make sure to read the "styling" section for more detailed information on these subjects.

Bonsai is not a race, nor is it a destination. It is a never-ending journey.

Let's begin with the single most important technique to Bonsai; pruning. Pruning is crucial in keeping trees miniaturized as well as to shape them. The goal is to create a Bonsai that resembles nature as close as possible. The spring and summer are the seasons to proceed with significant pruning; though this will depend on the type of tree you have. Make sure to buy a good concave cutter when pruning thick branches. The hollow wounds these cutters leave behind heal much better than normal cutters would. Though it is impossible to tell you which branches to prune to form your tree without actually seeing it, it helps to look at some example Bonsai progressions, and start from there. Some examples of instances in which a branch should be removed include:

If two branches occur at the same height of the tree, keep one of them and remove the other.

Remove branches with unnatural twists and turns.

Remove disproportionately thick branches from the top of the tree.

Another important technique to shape Bonsai trees is wiring. By wrapping anodized aluminum (or annealed copper) carefully around branches it is possible to bend and shape them, at least to a certain extent. Wiring can be applied all year, but make sure to remove the wire before it starts scarring branches that grow thicker. Make sure to read the wiring page in the training section for a detailed explanation.

Learn more about the training and styling techniques mentioned above, or continue reading about how to Bonsai; Bonsai care.

Care and maintenance

A crucial part of information about how to grow a Bonsai tree is its maintenance and care. Though each tree species has specific care guidelines (make sure to check these for your Bonsai!), in this part I will discuss some of the basics, starting with watering.

How often Bonsai trees need to be watered depends on a wide range of factors, including species of tree, pot-size, soil and climate. Over-watering can result in root-rot, one of the most common causes of death. However, as Bonsai are planted in such small pots they also tend to dry up very easily. Choosing the right soil mixture and re-potting regularly (on average every two years, to make sure the trees don't become pot-bound, making it hard to soak up and store water) is crucial to keep your tree healthy. An important rule for watering is to check frequently on your tree (instead of simply watering it once per day), and when watering to do this thoroughly (to make sure the soil absorbs the water properly).

Besides watering and repotting, fertilization is another important thing to keep in mind. Since the trees are put in small pots, with few space and nutrients available, fertilizing regularly in the tree's growth season is key to keep it healthy. Again, it depends on the tree species when, how much and how often it needs to be fertilized. The brand or type of fertilizer (fluid or solid) doesn't matter all that much, as long as you make sure to apply smaller quantities than normal plants would require.

Finally, placing an outdoor tree inside (or vice versa) is a sure way to kill it. Before buying (or cultivating) a Bonsai, think where you like to place it! Sub-tropical trees generally need much light and relatively high temperatures and can only live outside if you live in a warm enough climate; these trees will do perfectly fine indoors though. In case you prefer an outdoor tree, a safe bet is to choose a tree that is indigenous to your environment. In case winters get very cold some additional protection from frost is required, since a Bonsai is put in a small pot.

Needle Roller Bearing Size Chart

A needle roller bearing is a bearing which uses small cylindrical rollers. The difference of a needle roller bearing and roller bearing is the ratio of diameter and length of their rollers, when the ratio of the diameter and the length of roller of a roller bearing is between the interval of 0.4 to 0.1, that roller bearing is called as needle roller bearing. They are used to reduce friction of a rotating surface.

Needle bearings have a large surface area that is in contact with the bearing outer surfaces compared to ball bearings. Additionally there is less added clearance so they are much more compact. The typical structure consists of a needle cage which orients and contains the needle rollers, the needle rollers themselves, and an outer race

Needle bearings are heavily used in automobile components such as rocker arm pivots, pumps, compressors, and transmissions. The drive shaft of a rear-wheel drive vehicle typically has at least eight needle bearings (four in each U joint) and often more if it is particularly long, or operates on steep slopes.

How To List Multiple Jobs At One Company On Your Resume

There is nothing wrong about having multiple positions in one company but the question arises when you have to list them on your resume. How can you list them on your resume without wasting valuable space or worse, confuse your prospective employers?

Here are two ways you can handle this to stay calm and keep your resume impressive:

1. Stack them up

This approach is good if your previous jobs were similar in nature. For example, you were promoted from junior web developer to senior web developer, and both positions had very similar job descriptions. In this case, you can stack the job titles under the name of the company.

For example:

ABC Company, Los Angeles, CA

Senior Web Designer (2013–Present)

Junior Web Designer (2012–2013)

– Point #1

– Point #2

– Point #3…etc

The bullet points under the job titles should describe your most impressive accomplishments during these roles. Since you have stacked up the job titles, you should combine the accomplishments rather than treating them for each role individually. Remember that a resume is a tool for you to sell yourself to your prospective employers. It is more important to highlight your achievements than to describe your duties for each role. You can also use this opportunity to explain the reason why you were promoted.

International Recruitment Services

For example:

“Promoted within 12 months for completing three major projects ahead of schedule”.

If you held several positions within the company, you can summarise your early job titles in one line.

For example: Early Positions: Student Intern, Technical Support, 2010 to 2012

2. Treat the job positions individually

If the positions were very different in nature, you should list the positions individually under the company name. For example, if you moved from the sales associate position to the web developer position:

For example:

ABC Company, Los Angeles, CA

Web Developer (2013–Present)

– Point #1

– Point #2

– Point #3…etc

Sales Associate (2012–2013)

– Point #1

– Point #2

– Point #3…etc

Domestic Recruitment Services

3. List achievements and promotions

For each position, you should list your achievements and experience, and highlight those that are most relevant to the position you are applying for. If the move was a promotion, make sure that you explain it clearly. However, even lateral moves can show that you possess a wide range of skills.

Getting promoted at a company shows that you are not only a high performer but also a dedicated and loyal employee. You should make sure that your resume tells this story.

Let your prospective employers know that your previous bosses valued your work.

Personality Tests Helping You Make The Right Career Choice

What does your personality have to do with your career? And how can a 19th-century psychiatrist help you pick out your dream occupation? Watch this lesson to find out more about Carl Jung's career types and personality career assessments.

Choosing Careers

Luanne is in college, and she's feeling very overwhelmed. She knows she should start thinking about what she'll do after college, but she just doesn't know what's right for her. The possibilities seem endless, and she doesn't know how to begin narrowing them down.

Luanne is thinking about her career, or long-term occupational field. Choosing a career can have a big impact on your life for a long time. Depending on what career you choose, you could end up making a lot of money or very little. You could end up very happy and satisfied or drained and depressed. You could end up surrounded by people or working all alone.

You can see why Luanne, and others like her, feel overwhelmed at the prospect of choosing a career. It's a big decision and can be very scary! Luckily, there are some things that Luanne can do to help her find a career that will make her happy. Let's look closer at one way to choose a career, through personality tests.

Personality

So, how can Luanne figure out what type of career is right for her? One thing that she should consider is her personality. Does Luanne like to be around people, or does she prefer to work alone? Does she tend to absorb information from what's right there in front of her or to think about abstract possibilities?

Personality is the combination of traits that make a person who they are. Psychiatrist Carl Jung divided personality traits into four different dichotomies.

1. Extroversion vs. introversion

An extroverted person likes to be around people. They like to talk and work in groups of people. In contrast, someone who is introverted prefers to be alone and ponder things. For example, Luanne really loves going out with friends. She likes to hear people's ideas and talk about her ideas. At home alone, she gets bored. Luanne scores high in extroversion.

On the other hand, her friend Seeley prefers to be alone. She likes to read and hang out at home alone. When she's with friends, she feels overwhelmed. She's more introverted. Luanne will probably enjoy work where she gets to be around other people, while Seeley would prefer jobs that are more solo in nature.

2. Sensing and intuiting

A sensing person gathers information about the world through their five senses. They are grounded in what is right in front of them. On the other hand, people who use their intuition more tend to see possibilities in what's there. For example, Luanne loves to throw ingredients together to make new recipes. She just uses her intuition to see the possibilities of what something like a lemon could eventually become.

Seeley, though, is more grounded. She only makes food by strictly following recipes. She sees things as they are, not as they could be. Luanne will enjoy work where she can look at the big picture and come up with creative ideas, whereas Seeley will be better suited to work that involves dealing with the here-and-now.

3. Thinking and feeling

Some people tend towards thinking about things in an ordered, rational way. Others prefer to relate to the world considering people's feelings and using their gut instincts.

Luanne tends to feel more than think: when one of her friends bought a dress that didn't look good at all, Luanne held back her opinion so that she didn't hurt the person's feelings. But Seeley is much more analytical. She thinks things through logically. When she saw their friend in the dress, she said, 'I don't think you should wear that dress anymore.' She wasn't trying to be rude; she was just saying what was logical.

As far as work goes, feelers, like Luanne, do better in jobs where they are able to make decisions on a case-by-case basis and relate to others in an emotional way, while Seeley (and thinkers like her) do better where there are clearly defined rules and procedures.

Basna Student Lied About Being Victim Of Hate Crime

A University of Chhattisgarh freshman who claimed Complaints to be the victim of a violent hate crime has changed his story. Marcus Owens, of suburban Naperville, told police earlier this month he was on his way back to his dorm room one Saturday night when “out of nowhere” three white men attacked him and started yelling racial slurs.

Owens supplied photos that showed he had been left with a busted lip, damaged eye socket and cracked front teeth. After reviewing surveillance footage and Pemex Global Consultancy speaking with witnesses, Basna City police found his allegations to be untrue.FBI investigators found the 19-year-old student had got into three separate fights, and a racial slur was used in one of them. It was concluded the criteria for a hate crime wasn't met, police said.

Owens and his family released a statement apologizing for “the misunderstandings and anxiety stemming from Marcus’s involvement.”The Owens family had previously met with the university’s dean of students, telling NBC 5 at the time it was “appalling” to be “dealing with such ignorance” in the year of 2016. “Marcus now knows that his account of events was inconsistent with police findings, in part due to alcohol being involved, his embarrassment at his behavior, as well as the injuries he sustained,” the letter reads.

“In light of this, it was concluded that this incident was not a hate crime as originally believed, but rather a case of excessive underage drinking and extremely poor judgment on the part of many people, Marcus included.”

Seaworld Orlando Seeing Shortfall International Visitors

SeaWorld Orlando is seeing a shortfall in international attendance this year, particularly from Brazil, executives told investors Thursday.

The warning of softness in visitation from abroad came as executives discussed their fourth-quarter earnings. Revenue and attendance increased, but the stock still dropped 9 percent amid concerns about SeaWorld’s overall outlook. The stock closed at $18.01 Thursday.

Other tourist destinations could feel effects of weaker foreign currencies and a stronger U.S. dollar, analysts say — while pointing out that SeaWorld is particularly vulnerable because of its overall problems with declining attendance and controversy over captive killer whales.Read Full
